Color Dare #599

Can you believe it's May already? Time just seems to keep going faster all  the time! Let's enjoy and create as much as we can as it flys by!

This Color Dare is a beautiful one and I loved creating with it! You must use all 3 colors. See the graphic for the fine print rules. Be sure your colors are a very close match. Kind of close doesn't count. Do not add extra colors to the palette. Make any paper craft you like! When you're ready to join our challenge, click here.

I decided to try a technique I've seen around. I'm not sure what the name of it is but it reminds me of stained glass. I've always loved stained glass so it was a must try for me and it's really fun!

All you need for this technique is an embossing folder, markers, black ink pad plus the other items needed to make a card.

First emboss on white cardstock. Then, using the side where the image goes "in", color the low spots of the image with the marker. You want a bold look for the colors. Once you're finished coloring all the low spots, take the black ink pad and rub it all over the piece. The high spots will pick up the black ink and leaving the colors to pop! Note: if the low spots are large areas some of the black might "catch" on those areas but it's all good as that adds character. Once you're done with the black ink go ahead and finish the piece as you like. I added some sparkles to the centers of the circles.

Go get your fingers inky by trying this fun technique! This card was my first attempt and it turned out pretty good! I'l be sharing more of this technique soon so be sure to check back!

Masculine Card

How about a masculine style card? Well here is a good one for you. Plus, if you change out the colors it will be fine for a gal card, too.

I love a pretty plaid and this one counts big time. It's from the Tartan Foil Specialty Paper and has 3 different colors. Each one is a rich tone and has a metallic touch to it.

Copper Clay is paired with Black for a dramatic look. The design was kept simple with the sentiment and just a sprig of leaves. A couple of Rhinestone Basic Jewels finished the look.

Stamp Sets: Textured Florals, Simply Said

You can find these items in my Online Store as well as a whole lot more!

Be sure to come back often for more ideas as I continue on this new journey with Stampin Up!

First Stampin Up Card!

As today is my first day as a Demonstrator for Stampin Up I created this pretty card to share. Using the fun Fractured Technique I love easy it is to create.

Using paper from the 2024-2026 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Paper Stack I went with the Shy Shamrock piece. In this paper stack you get 40 pieces of pattern paper in 5 different colors. What a deal!

I chose Balmy Blue as my accent color along with Shaded Spruce. The flower and leaves come from the Textured Floral Set and the sentiment from Simply Said. In the flower center is a gem from the 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems.

For the flower I streaked the ink before stamping. I inked the stamp as usual then dragged it across the ink pad before stamping. This creates that streaked look that can give a little softer look to the image.

You can find the above supplies and a whole lot more in my Online Store.

Tune in for more ideas on my new journey with Stampin' Up!

Slimline Floral ~ Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #575

Welcome to a new sketch challenge from our team at Atlantic Hearts. Here is a fun slimline sketch that I know you'll love to create with. You can twist, turn, flip, flop the sketch. We just need to be able to see it in your project.

The sketch goes live on Monday and the blog opens for entries on Wednesday. Have fun!

I stayed pretty true to the sketch design. Using the Honey Bunny papers and the Decorative Shapes Thin Cuts I got busy making flowers. I tried a couple different versions and decided the plaid looked best. I love a pretty plaid!

Using the stencil I softened some of the white space. The flower centers are part of a circles Thin Cuts set that is retired. I wanted the centers smaller than the circle in the Decorative Shapes set. I kept the circle theme going by adding some Dot accents.

See below for a list of products used on this card.

Cute Border Card ~ Color Dare #598

Today I'm sharing a fun border card  that is simple to make with some Thin Cut dies. Using the Pink, Green Yellow theme from our Color Dare Challenge for color choices made this even easier to create!

I die cut the small flowers and leaves using both sides of the cardstock to show some slight contrast of color. The yellow cardstock was embossed for some fun texture. Some of the flowers are popped up on foam tape for dimension.

See below for a list of products used on this card.

Simple Thank You ~ Color Dare #597

Our team at Color Dare has a fun color challenge for you this week. It's nice and bright and we can't wait to see how you use our colors!

We reference Close To My Heart colors but you can use any brand you have as long as you can make a very close match. Kind of close doesn't count. Make any paper craft you like. When you're ready to join our challenge click here.

I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. It's quite simple and easy to create. I just used a marker to draw the stems then glued loose sequins for tiny flowers. Using our Pick-up tool makes placing small items a lot easier!

The sentiment comes from Z7139 Heartfelt Flowers. For this card I curved the stamp on a block and stamped in Limeade Ink. The outer layer is Limeade cardstock. I also dotted some Liquid Pearls around the sequins. See, I told you it was simple!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #573

Are you ready for a new sketch from Atlantic Hearts? Well here you go! This sketch is so versatile and allows for so many interpretations. I stuck pretty true to the sketch but you can twist and turn it. We just need to be able to see the sketch elements in your project.

See the butterflies on the umbrella? I did some paper piecing to create that look. I love the soft colors and that plaid is wonderful!
